MORAL HOME FOR THE AGED SICK was set up by Chee Hoon Kog Moral Promotion Society
in 1986 as a community service to look after the aged sick in Singapore. The
original Home was declared opened on 11 September 1988.

OBJECTIVE :
As this Home is a charity, it accepts non-paying residents, recommended by either the Ministry of Community Development and Sports, the Ministry of Health, or through the Medical Social Workers of the hospitals.
POLICIES :
The operation costs of the HOME come from public donations as well as generous benefactors and organisations who donate on a regular basis.
The HOME also charges fees from family members of the residents based on the type of nursing care rendered and their financial ability. Our charges range from $1,000.00 to $1,500.00.
Applications for admission are made directly by family members of the applicant or referred by the hospitals’ medical social workers, Integrated Care Services or other welfare agencies and grassroots organisations. The applications are processed by the Matron endorsed by the Admission Committee.

CALENDAR OF EVENTS
Schools Community Service – CIP
During the year students from the following schools came to do CIP in the Home. They interacted with the residents and also performed with cultural dance and songs:
Voluntary Services:
- The Home Volunteers, Moral Angels, without fail, a group of young working adults and school children (approximately 20 volunteers) come to our Home to chit chat, play games and sing along with the residents.
Apart from the weekly activities, during the festive season, they held special functions and outing, namely:
· Outing to the Park, Chinese Garden & etc.
· Christmas shopping
· Round table dinner at restaurant
· Buffet lunches and dinners for all residents
- 9AMB (9 Army Military Base) adopted our Home and the National Servicemen with their Commander came to do community work such as cleaning and dusting all fans, walls and windows once in every month.
During festive celebrations like Lunar New Year, each resident was given a “Hongbao” and mandarin oranges and mooncakes and pomelos were distributed to the residents during the Mid Autumn Festival.
- Every 3rd Sunday of the month the Buddhist Lodge group of volunteers came to visit and brought vegetable lunch for our residents. They also render hair cutting services to some of our residents.
- Members of Siglap C C Women’s Executive Committee came to cook dinner for our residents once a month.
- Apart from the above, we also have individual volunteers who came to offer their services on hair cutting, help in cleaning the Home and sing karaoke for our residents.

Visitors:
January - Singapore Buddhist Lodge came to distribute Lunar New Year hongbaos to all our
residents.
February - Members of UWEEI (United Workers of Electronic & Electrical Industries) organized a
buffet lunch, games and songs for the residents. Guest of Honour was Mdm Halimah
Yacob. She distributed hongbaos and mandarin oranges to our residents.
- Bedok Methodist Church members came to celebrate the New Year with song and
dance. Each resident was given a hongbao and mandarin oranges.
March - Youth Challenge volunteers, (8 girls from different JCs), came to make tuna
sandwiches and cooked spaghetti lunch for our residents.
April - Youth Challenge came again to cook spaghetti for our residents.
- Mr Kwan with a group of 20 from Sagaramudra Buddhist Society visited our Home and
interacted with our residents.
- Tampines Centre Club led by
Chairman Mr Lim and Kathy Leo visited and entertained
the residents with music, songs and dance performance.
May - Youth Challenge Group of volunteers came and prepared abalone porridge for our
residents.
July - Visitors from Taiwan Oranger Dance Troupe came to perform and entertained our
residents with music, song and dance.
- St Andrew’s Junior College’s “Service Learning Day” – 46 students came and brought
soya bean drinks, oats & condensed milk. They helped to clean windows, weeding,
served food and interacted with the residents.
- 40 students from Nanyang Polytechnic brought snacks, served food and interacted
with our residents.
August - Realm Of Tranquility Group came with a group of school children to visit and
entertained our residents with music and dance performance.
- A group of 20 National Chinese students from Asia-Australia School of Management
came to entertain our residents with cultural performance. The residents enjoyed the
performance very much. They also brought fruits and served them to our residents.
September - Mr & Mrs Easterbrook came to pay annual visit and organized buffet lunch for our
residents and staff.
November - Temasek Junior College students (25) came to interact with our residents.
December - Taiwan Group – Wu Su & “Ku-Zhen” Music visited our Home and entertained our
residents with song and dance performance.
- Bedok Methodist Church’s young Christian members came to celebrate X’mas with
our residents with songs and dances.
- Singapore Boy’s Brigade sent 66 bags of daily provisions for our PA residents through
staff of Wonderware.
- Youth Challenge volunteers (20 students from HongKong – exchange programme
came to interact with our residents and brought durians for them).
Outings
January - Kuang Chee Tng Buddhist Association invited 20 residents to their premises for
vegetarian lunch. Each resident was given “hongbao and goodie bag”.
- Siglap C C invited our residents to their Annual HongBao Presentation Ceremony
2006 and lunch. 12 PA mobile residents and 18 paying mobile residents attended
this function.
- Broadrick Sec. School invited our residents & staff to their premises to attend the
Lunar New Year celebrations.
- Kaki Bukit Senior Activity Centre invited 20 of our residents to Steamboat Dinner at
China Square, organized by Youth Challenge.
- Kim San Tze Temple celebrated Lunar New Year Multi Racial Community Dinner.
20 residents were invited.
February - 20 residents were invited by Kaki Bukit Senior Activity Centre to lunch @ Neptune
Theatre Restaurant – organized by Youth Challenge.
- Invitation by Home Nursing Foundation – 25 residents and staff attended the 19th
Seniors Nite @ Singapore Expo Hall 2B.
- Pasir Ris Zone 2 Community Centre invited 14 residents and 10 staff to their
Lunar New Year Dinner.
- Singapore Women’s Association together with Sin Leong & SPC sponsored lunch
held at Red Star Restaurant. 22 residents & 4 staff attended. Each resident received
hongbao” & 2 sets of gifts.
April - Bedok Methodist Church invited 12 residents & 2 staff out to dinner @ East Coast
Park.
- “Moral Angels” brought 15 ambulant & 10 wheel chair bound residents to Singapore
Botanical Gardens, after which they were treated to dinner in a restaurant.
- Our neighbour, Masjid Al Taqua invited residents & staff to their lunch in honour of
Prophet Mohamed’s birthday. 30 residents & 8 staff attended.
Also in the evening 24 residents and 10 staff attended the dinner invited by Loyang
Tua Pek Kong Temple.
May - Buddhist Welfare Society invited 28 residents & 10 staff to celebrate Vesak Day Joy
Party 2006 @ Neptune Theatre Restaurant. Each resident received $50/- and
a goodie bag.
- Care & Share Society invited 20 residents A& 5 staff to dinner @ Sembawang C. C.
(Parents night cum Variety Show).
- UWEEI Group invited 20 residents & 5 staff to Down Town East and lunch.
- Joo Chiat Committee Club Management invited 35 nos. to their Dumpling Festival.
July - Senior members of Bedok Methodist Church brought 12 of our residents out to lunch
at Changi Airport.
August - Alert Disaster (Control Asia) Loyang Off Shore Supply Base invited 20 residents &
1 staff to their 7th Moon Chinese Dinner. Each resident at the function received a
T-shirt.
September - “Moral Angels” organized outing to Chinese Garden for 15 wheelchair bound residents
to view the beautiful lantern decorations there and thereafter to a sumptuous dinner.
- UWEEI invited 18 residents & 5 staff to Night Tour of the City in a Hopper Bus and
dinner.
October - Bedok Methodist Church brought 12 residents out to East Coast Park Food Centre for
dinner.
November - Realm Of Tranquility invited 15 residents & 2 staff to their Care & Share Day cum
Moon Cake Festival celebration @ Chung Cheng High School.
- Pasir Ris Zone 2 Senior Citizens Executive Committee invited 18 residents & 2 staff
to their High Tea function @ Blk 417 Pasir Ris Drive.
- 25 residents & 8 staff attended Sathya Sai Senior Citizens dinner @ Toa Payoh Indoor
Stadium.
- Matron Leong, Winnie Koh & AN Thu Zar Aye attended the “Tan Chin Tuan Award for
E.N.” function @ Nanyang Fine Arts School.
December - Residents & 2 staff attended the lunch organized by Cheng Beng Buddhist Society @
their temple premises in Geylang, Lorong 15.
- 30 ambulant & 10 wheelchair bound residents attended the vegetarian dinner
organized by Gelugpa Buddhist Association @ Singapore Expo Hall.
- 20 residents attended the performance @ Katong/Joo Chiat organized by Cornerstone
as part of their Christmas celebration.

Donations in kind -
Received new year reunion foodstuff for all residents from Qui Mei Group. Also received quarterly donations in kind from Qui Mei Group.
As usual on every 15th of the month we collect vegetarian food from Tai Pei Home.
Kwan Yim Thong Hood Cho Temple donated foodstuff and consumables to us monthly.
Food From The Heart - Weekly 10 loaves of bread
Received 1200 kgs of Rice from Lotus Light Charity Society on 03.06.06.
Monthly birthday celebration for the residents and staff.
26.01.06 - The HOME celebrated Chinese New Year with a reunion lunch for residents and staff.
8 Health Attendant Trainees passed the ITE Health Care/Home Care exams with good grades. Results collected on 13.02.06 and Certificates awarded on 18.06.2006.
2 Health Attendants from Moral Welfare Home & 1 Health Attendant from Chai Chee came for OJT attachment in March 06.
N/A Thida Aung passed her Enrolled Nurse examination on 31.07.06.
