MISSION STATEMENT

 

Ø     To help anyone in need of help with respect of their race, colour, creed and religions.

 

 

OBJECTIVES

 

Ø     To provide community, social recreational and welfare services to those elderly persons who need its services.

Ø    To provide the basic or core services laid down by the Ministry of Community Development, Youth and Sports (MCYS) as essential to a Seniors Activity Centre.

Ø    To provide social and recreational programmes and activities for the elderly residents to enable them to lead a more fruitful and meaningful social lives.

Ø    To provide care and support services, such as befriending, mutual help group schemes, emergency alert response calls, guidance advice, referrals and information.

Ø     To provide a warm familiar and receptive environment for the elderly users who are welcome to drop by at all times during its operating hours.

Ø     To refer any matter pertaining to marital, health financial status to the relevant Organisations and or Social Service Agencies.

 

 

BACKGROUND

 

Ø     Moral Seniors Activity Centre (Kaki Bukit) was set up by Chee Hoon Kog Moral Promotion Society in 1999.  It was registered as a Charity with the Commissioner of Charities. The Centre was officially declared opened on 30 July 2000 by Mr Chew Heng Ching, MP for East Coast GRC (Kaki Bukit).

 

LOCALITY

 

Ø      Moral Seniors Activity Centre (Kaki Bukit) is situated at the void-deck space of Blk 544, Bedok North Street 3, #01-1340, Singapore 460544.

 

 

WELFARE  & PROGRAMME SERVICES

 

Ø      Registered of Elderly Persons who stay at the Identified Blocks as well as Neighbouring Blocks

Ø      Keep Fit Exercises such as Laughing Exercise, Physical Exercise. This is to help maintain cognitive wellness and improve social interaction.

Ø     Bingo/Mahjong/Chinese Chess/ Zig Saw Puzzle/Rummy Game.  This is to stimulate cognitive activities and keep them alert and prevent deterioration of the brain/memory.

Ø      Educational TV/Video Session, Radio Programmes – keep the elderlys informed on the update happening locally and overseas.

Ø     Handicraft Work – to promote elderly volunteerism, keep elderly active in contributing their time and skill to raise funds.  Improve self-confidence and self worth.

Ø     Karaoke Singing – to help elderly to participate, socially active and a form of relaxation.

Ø      Reading/Writing letters, filling in forms for those who are illiterate

Ø      Home Help assistance for frail and wheel bound elderlys.

Ø      Meal Deliveries are catered for those needy elderlys.

Ø     All Festive Season Celebrations such as Christmas, Chinese New Year, Deepavali, Hari Raya Puasa, Dumpling Festival, Mooncake Festival, Vesak Day, Mother’s Day, Elderly’s Birthday Gathering, National Day Celebration, Senior Citizens’ Week etc.,

REVIEW OF FINANCIAL STATUS

 

Though the subsidy by MCDS is sufficient to cover the SAC Centre’s expenses, the Centre was fortunate to have a very good Management Team, good and kind donors, friends and supporters.   The Management has done well to keep Finances sound.
